5/6 grades girls

Grade 5 and Grade 6

Girls in these grade levels will be placed on evenly balanced teams based on their abilities. New players will be introduced to the sport of lacrosse while returning players will continue to strengthen the basic skills of cradling, groundball pickups, throwing and catching.
At this level further emphasis is placed on skill development. Players gain a stronger understanding of game situations as well as offensive and defensive tactics. Proper player conduct is stressed as games become more competitive, modified checking is introduced and players gain advanced techniques.
Practice for the 5/6 teams will be held two nights a week for 2 hours with games on Saturday mornings or afternoons and possibly Sundays. Our CYL 5/6 Teams compete in the PAGLA League and games are scheduled with regional PAGLA lacrosse programs. Games are played full field in a 12 v 12 format with goalies.

Any female who is currently enrolled in 5th and 6th grade and who resides in the Coatesville Area School District, attends Collegium or Avon Grove Charter, Pope John Paul, Octorara or does not have access to a community lacrosse league may join CYL.
